Neil Warnock rages at Daniel Farke sack news at Leeds United

Neil Warnock was less than impressed at the rumours surrounding Daniel Farke’s future at Leeds United.

As of right now, Leeds‘ only focus will be on recruitment, and having sealed the signing of Lukas Nmecha on a free transfer from Wolfsburg, with many more expected.

With their Premier League fixtures now revealed, the Whites are fully aware of the fate that awaits them next season, though it could have been a very different story for Farke.

Farke sack was considered by Leeds United

After winning the Championship title, Leeds fans will have been expecting the weeks proceeding that to be full of optimism and positivity, though that wasn’t the case.

Instead, the focus immediately turned to the future of Farke, who Leeds were said to be deliberating over whether to sack him for fear of his previous Premier League record.

However, the Whites instilled their faith in the German, with Warnock outlining how his past record in the Premier League cannot define his future as Leeds United manager.

Farke’s record in the Premier League leaves a lot to be desired.

Speaking live on talkSPORT (18 June), he said: “Daniel Farke, you know, he’s done a fabulous job there. When it was said they might sack him because he didn’t do very well at Norwich, well, the facts are Norwich didn’t give him a chance.

“They decided to invest all the money in things off the field and what have you. And they never gave him a chance at Norwich. So you can’t compare that to Leeds.”

Leeds must back Farke if Premier League survival is to be achieved

Farke has an excellent squad to work with at Elland Road, though the step up from the Championship to the Premier League is massive, and that will undoubtedly be on his mind.

Nmecha’s arrival is a start, but Leeds need to secure many more incomings if they are to have any chance of breaking the trend of newly promoted sides falling straight back down.

These next few weeks and months will be interesting, and they need to get the decisions right within them, as it could prove rather costly if they fail to do so.
