Neil Redfearn reveals what Leeds United have missed in new prediction
Leeds United have slipped to third in the Championship table after drawing with Luton Town on Saturday.
A recent dip in form has proved just how tight the race for automatic promotion is set to be, despite Daniel Farke almost guaranteeing Premier League football next season already.
The Whites are without a win in three games but have a chance to put their form right with a trip to Middlesbrough on Tuesday (8 April).

Neil Redfearn offers Leeds United prediction
The only goal at Elland Road this season is promotion back to the Premier League.
However, if Leeds don’t secure an automatic place, there is no doubt going to be nerves over a play-off campaign given the side’s recent history in that race.
With only two points separating Burnley at the top of the table and Leeds in third, there is still plenty of opportunity for things to change again between now and the end of the season.
Speaking live on talkSPORT (8 April, 7:36 am), Neil Redfearn has admitted he sees his former side achieving their aims, saying: “They seem to be losing momentum at the wrong time, don’t they?
“But I still feel they’ve got enough about them to get one of those automatic places, but it’s going to be tough, you know, they’re dropping points against teams that they should be getting three points against.”
Team | Position | Goal Difference | Points |
Burnley | 1 | 43 | 84 |
Sheffield United | 2 | 26 | 83 |
Leeds United | 3 | 51 | 82 |
Out of the top three sides, the West Yorkshire outfit have the best goal difference by eight, and Redfearn has credited the attack for carrying the side through as he added: “You’ve got to remember, that’s been done without a recognised centre forward.”
Farke has to get back to winning ways
Throughout much of the season, Leeds have been one of the toughest sides to face in the Championship with a strong team who have shown their ability to keep going.
However, there are worries that his side may have peaked too soon, with form now suffering which has left Farke with some difficult selection decisions ahead.
If the boss doesn’t secure promotion in West Yorkshire this term, Farke could well see himself let go by the 49ers in the summer transfer window ahead of the new season.
There is plenty that could still happen, but the Whites don’t have the time to continue slipping down the table, something the manager has to drill into his team.
Middlesbrough will not be an easy opponent, but if they can put things right starting on Tuesday, it will be a massive relief at Elland Road.
