Nadiem Amiri training update emerges as Leeds United agreed fee with Bayer Leverkusen

Nadiem Amiri is back in training with Bayer Leverkusen after Leeds United agreed a fee to secure his services, according to Rheinische Post.

The German publication reported in its print edition on Wednesday (30 August, Page 5) that the major part of his turning down a move to Elland Road was due to his child being due in the next two weeks.

He even visited Leeds earlier this week but he could not be convinced about joining the club.

Waste of time

Amiri’s indecisiveness wasted everyone’s time in this transfer pursuit and Leeds could’ve focused their resources on other players.

Despite being in the Championship, they are still a big draw and among the favourites to bounce back to the Premier League next season.

The German certainly did not see things that way and it’s a bullet dodged for the Whites as they do not need players that aren’t committed to the cause.

Leeds United

Daniel Farke would’ve wanted him but having seen his stance after his visit to Leeds, there’s a very good reason for him having a change of heart.

It remains to be seen who their alternative midfield targets are as time is running out for them to get deals over the line.

Their midfield is still threadbare and they desperately need not one but two new signings in that department.

In other Leeds United news, agents and personal terms update has emerged as the Whites have agreed a fee for another new signing.
