talkSPORT pundit Jason Cundy was way off the mark when he described the Leeds United defenders as “pub league” in the game against Everton on Wednesday night.
Talking on the Sports Bar after the game he said, “Leeds, they’re just a funny side Leeds.
“They give you opportunities. You wouldn’t have Leeds on your coupon. I think they get too much praise, I do.
“When they go forward that’s what you want to see. When you see them defend, especially the first goal, it’s pub league.”
🤫 “Leeds get too much praise.”
✅ “You want to see them attack.”
🍺 “But when you see Leeds defend… it’s like pub league!”
Jason Cundy isn’t sure why people are so impressed with #lufc this season 🤷♂️

Cundy is within his rights to highlight a mistake and both Pascal Struijk and Liam Cooper could have done better for the first goal.
Luke Ayling admitted he made a mistake for the second.
But mistakes happen in any defence and the big point that Cundy is missing is that Leeds have lost two senior centre-backs to injury.
You can’t go a single Liverpool game without this bring brought up. But when pundits are talking about Leeds, it’s almost as if Diego Llorente and Robin Koch don’t exist.
They’re full internationals for Spain and Germany respectively. They cost almost £30m to purchase and are some of Leeds’ biggest signings.
There’s no team in the Premier League that could do without two senior centre-backs and still defend to their peak.
Pascal Struijk was only ever supposed to be used as cover.
It’s hard to listen to talkSPORT sometimes, when soundbites and fishing on Twitter seems more a reason for a story than anything else .
This one is wide of the mark on so many fronts.
