MOT View: Bilic pipping Bielsa to award could give Leeds promotion boost based on fan reacts
It is a common theme amongst Championship clubs that your boss winning the Manager of the Month award is a curse – it is no different at Leeds United.
Fans have suggested that if their manager wins the award, their side will not win many games in the following month, very much a conspiracy theory amongst them.
Marcelo Bielsa has won the award twice during his time at Elland Road, and the EFL revealed on Thursday that the South American has been nominated for February’s award.

Alongside Bielsa is Paul Cook, Scott Parker and West Brom’s Slaven Bilic. It is highly unlikely that Bielsa will win given that the month started with consecutive defeats against Wigan and Nottingham Forest.
Leeds fans have reacted to the news, and many have called for Bielsa to lose the award and let one of his fellow managers take the honours.
West Brom manager Bilic guided his side to only one defeat in February, and that could put him ahead of Bielsa, who guided Leeds back to the top of the table on Saturday.

So, the conspiracy would be this – Bilic picks up the award and then guides his side to a terrible March. Before the award has even been announced, it hasn’t been the best couple of weeks for the Baggies.
West Brom first lost in the FA Cup and then drew against Swansea, as previously mentioned a result that cost them top spot.
Based on fan reactions, West Brom could fall foul of the award curse and give Leeds a massive promotion boost with a terrible March in the Championship.
