Month with Leeds United 'perfection' - Argentine manager Guillermo Farre

Guillermo Farre spent just one month at Leeds United during Marcelo Bielsa’s reign at Elland Road but he still remembers it fondly.

The Argentine now manages Belgrano in his homeland and still recalls from his experience in Yorkshire where he can and the great man who was at the helm at the time.

Like many Leeds fans, Farre could not speak highly enough of Bielsa and hopes to emulate his success in management both in Argentina and Europe.

“The perfection that exists is gourmet cuisine, Bielsa is gourmet cuisine, it is very difficult to carry out something like him because it is his imprint, personality, his way of being, all those who want to copy him do not come out the same,” Farre said to TyC Sports

“In this group there was a great synergy and empathy between members, coaching staff, assistants, that is what one can come to rescue from having been at Leeds with Bielsa, the organization, the respect, values that go beyond football.

“I was accompanying him for a month and I tried not to exceed the space he gave me, to observe or listen without invading, there were situations in which I thought it bothered me and he told me ‘stay, listen’.”

Marsch’s turn

Bielsa always had that aura around him and now it is the turn of Jesse Marsch to create that same feeling at Elland Road, which is no easy feat.

The American doesn’t have the same reputation in management just yet but he is considerably younger than the Argentine so has plenty of time to become that kind of manager.

He is already playing a similar style of football to Bielsa’s gung-ho flow which has served the Whites very well so far this season with six games played.

The more the Leeds United fans get behind him and the project he is embarking on at Elland Road, the more endeared he will be to the fans and the reputation will grow with it.

The Whites have a good track record of having highly-reputable managers at the helm and Marsch will hope to be the next on that long list of heroes who lead the club to great things.

In other Leeds United news, Brad Freidel has made a prediction regarding the American’s future and where he could go after LS11.
