Mikel Arteta says what has '100%' happened to Nketiah during loan spell at Leeds
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is 100 per cent sure that Eddie Nketiah developed as a player during his loan spell at Leeds United.
Nketiah, 20, made his 19th and final appearance for Leeds on New Years Day when the Yorkshire giants drew 1-1 against promotion rivals West Brom.
The England Under-21 international was recalled by Arsenal due to his lack of game-time at Elland Road.
Although he featured regularly, the young striker only managed two starts in the Championship and both of those came in the last week.
Although Arteta says Arsenal have not been too pleased with the lack of starts that Nketiah has had in the Championship, he does admit that the striker has return to North London a better player than when he left.
“We have to sit down with the loan department and we’ll do that this afternoon, to discuss the best possible way for him to keep developing,” said Arteta, as quoted on Arsenal’s official website.

“I think the environment that he’s been living in has improved him as a player, 100 per cent.
He played some minutes, not as much as we wanted, but he’s a kid with incredible potential and we have to make a decision for the club, not for the next four months but for his career.”
Even though Nketiah was not starting games for Leeds, he was still a regular member of Marcelo Bielsa’s squad, he was still playing every week and he was still getting a lot more experience than he would have sat in Arsenal’s Under-23s.
He was also being coached by a great manager in Bielsa, who would have no doubt improved the striker after just one training session at Thorp Arch.
You can understand why Arsenal have recalled Nketiah.
But they are not going to send him to a team who has a better manager than Leeds.
In other Leeds United news, Dean Ashton slammed this player for being “selfish” against West Brom.
