Miguel Almiron injury update emerges ahead of Leeds United v Newcastle United clash
Newcastle United forward Miguel Almiron is approaching full fitness ahead of Saturday’s clash against Leeds United on Saturday, according to injury expert Ben Dinnery.
The Paraguayan international has proven one of the shining lights in Newcastle’s impressive Premier League campaign this season, scoring 11 goals from 30 appearances.
The forward was out for a period last month due to a hamstring injury and has recently returned to Eddie Howe’s side but has been forced to start on the bench in three of their last five games.
However, injury expert Ben Dinnery took to his personal Twitter account [12 May] to reveal that the South American forward is approaching full fitness, signalling he may be ready to start Saturday’s game at Elland Road.
Must-win
Leeds United are in dire straights right now and quite simply need to pick up a result this weekend to keep their Premier League survival chances alive.
Sam Allardyce certainly has a tough job on his hands, starting against an impressive and destructive Newcastle side making his job keeping Leeds United in the division all the more difficult, and the news Almiron may be fit for the game won’t come as any pleasing news to their defence.

The Whites can take some encouragement from their second-half performance against Manchester City last weekend, but they could so easily have been three or four goals down before half-time.
Leeds United must ensure they are remaining in the game against Newcastle as Howe’s side are capable of showing no mercy, especially to relegation-threatened teams as they did to both Everton and West Ham in recent weeks.
It may seem impossible, but this is a must-win game for Leeds United and the Whites can take heart to the fact that anything can happen in the Premier League. Let’s hope fortunes favour them in these season-defining three games.
