Michail Antonio appears to suggest Leeds United will avoid relegation

Michail Antonio appears to have suggested that Leeds United will be safe in the relegation battle.

The West Ham striker feels that Everton could likely go down in the Championship as they do not have the experience of handling the pressure of fighting to stay in the Premier League.

Norwich City are already relegated while Watford are certain to go down as well. It’s between one of Leeds, Everton and Burnley, who will go down.

“Burnley are in and around it but the way they have played right now, I didn’t even include them in the three, because I feel they are going to be safe,” Antonio told The Footballer’s Football Podcast.

“I actually think it could be Everton because they’re not used to being down there or being in this fight.

“They’re used to being higher up the table and looking up, looking down is a completely different pressure and I don’t know if they can get themselves out of it.”

Leeds not safe yet

Frank Lampard’s side have closed the gap with both Burnley and Leeds last weekend to just two points after beating Chelsea and they have got a game in hand.

It looks like the momentum is with Everton and Burnley, with the Clarets especially are on a fantastic run with three wins in a row.

The problem for the Toffees is their poor away record. They have to win games away from home. Until now, they have not even managed a draw away from home under Frank Lampard.

Leeds have the worst goal difference of the three, and they have some big games coming up.

The Whites are actually on a good run under Jesse Marsch but the next two games are likely to shape their destiny.

They face London giants Arsenal and Chelsea in their next two games, and they have to get some points from those fixtures.

The Whites have got the worst run of fixtures and they could be in grave danger if the results don’t go their way. However, there could be more twists and turns in the race, and it’s really unpredictable at the moment.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites could look to sign a “Phenomenal” attacking midfielder this summer as he’s already bid farewell to fans of his club.
