Michael Owen wowed by ‘lovely’ Jack Harrison footage after what Leeds United loanee did for Everton
Michael Owen was impressed by Leeds United loanee Jack Harrison as he opened the scoring for Everton against Manchester City.
The winger was part of an extremely professional first-half performance against the current Premier League champions, pressuring the Man City defence into multiple mistakes, benefitting from one of them.
With Manuel Akanji firing a pass at Bernardo Silva, Dwight McNeil picked up the loose ball before slotting the ball across to the onrushing Harrison, who slotted calmly past Ederson, earning plaudits from Owen.

“It’s lovely. He ghosts in, quite slowly as well,” the former Liverpool striker said live on Amazon Prime on Wednesday (27 December). “He doesn’t sprint past Ake, just jogs into position and makes the run, staying onside.”
A misjudged transfer?
The player spent three years as a Man City player but never made a senior appearance for the Cityzens, experiencing loans at Middlesbrough and Leeds after transferring to the Manchester club from New York City, who are also part of the City Football Group.
However, he impressed during the 2020/21 season as he spent the season on loan at Elland Road, scoring eight goals in 37 appearances and earning himself a permanent move to the Whites.
The 27-year-old has scored 16 goals in 80 appearances for Leeds but fell down the pecking order. With Crysencio Summerville, Dan James and Wilfried Gnonto all preferred by Daniel Farke, Harrison was loaned out to Everton and has become a key player under Sean Dyche.

Harrison has never seemed to settle at any club. But with his Premier League experience and obvious talent, it may not be long until Farke second-guesses his choice to loan the player out amid Leeds’ aim to get back to the top tier of English football.
There is always the chance that the Toffees want to make Harrison’s deal permanent but that may not be possible due to the financial situation at the club. It will be interesting to see what Leeds have planned once the player returns at the end of the season.
In other Leeds United news, one player could leave Elland Road on a cut-price deal in January if a fee can be agreed.
