Michael Owen predicts scoreline of Leeds United clash v Manchester City
Leeds United will be comfortably beaten by Manchester City on Tuesday evening, according to Michael Owen.
The Whites travel to the Etihad Stadium in midweek following a 3-2 defeat to Chelsea on Saturday (11 December).
Marcelo Bielsa’s side sit 15th in the Premier League table with just one victory in six matches, while reigning champions and current leaders City have won six in a row.

Writing in his latest BetVictor predictions column, Owen backed a 4-1 win for Pep Guardiola’s team.
“City didn’t cruise to the win as they normally do, but that was a crucial win over Wolves on Saturday,” he said. “It’s never easy playing a side who are so well organised, but they did enough to get the win. I’d expect a far more open game here.
“Leeds will feel very unfortunate to have left Stamford Bridge with nothing. They did enough to get at least a point from that game. Nonetheless, they played some good stuff in the game and the second goal was a typical Leeds goal.
“There’s bound to be goals in this one. Leeds are never the sort of side to just sit and play on the counter, they’ll try and attack. That will suit City here though and I can see them winning this by a few goals.”

Odds against us
This could well end up proving to be Leeds’ most difficult game of the season, with Manchester City really in full flow having won eight of their last nine matches in all competitions.
The Whites’ injury list makes the task at the Etihad Stadium even harder, with Patrick Bamford, Liam Cooper, Kalvin Phillips, Pascal Struijk and Rodrigo all set to miss the fixture.
However, we can certainly take encouragement from the performance against Chelsea and the fact that the game was only decided by a late Blues penalty.
Of course we stunned everyone by winning 2-1 away at Manchester City against the odds last season, so there’s every chance that could happen again.
Guardiola’s men need stopping in their tracks – why can’t it be us that does it?
In other Leeds United news, the Whites want to sign a teenage sensation from a Premier League rival.
