Michael Owen predicts result of Leeds United clash v Watford
Michael Owen believes Leeds United ‘aren’t far off safety’ now, but thinks they’ll only be able to secure a point when they face Watford this weekend.
The Whites have gone unbeaten in their last three games, securing a draw against Southampton last time out to open a six point gap above the relegation zone.
Owen, speaking to BetVictor, has predicted the result of their game against 19th place Watford this weekend and thinks that it will be tight – leaning to a 1-1 draw between the sides.

“Watford were solid at Anfield and competed well for large parts of the game,” he said.
“They didn’t have much of the ball, but there was a decent shape to the side and were hard to beat. Roy Hodgson has definitely improved them defensively, but for them to have any chance, they need to put a few more away at the other end.
“As for Leeds, it’s been a good few weeks for Jesse Marsch. It may have only been a draw against Southampton, it could have been more, but it was a decent point, nonetheless. Leeds aren’t far off safety now.
“I can see another draw here. I don’t think this will have loads of goals, 1-1.”
Must not lose
Leeds have managed to afford themselves some breathing room in the business end of the season, but they can’t let up or they could be dragged right back into the cauldron.
Marsch has done an excellent job thus far of keeping the family unit together within the squad but applying his own principles and it’s there for all to see on the pitch.

They are more structured, better defensively and still a threat going forward. Welcoming key players back from injury is also a big positive too.
So long as they don’t lose to Watford, it should be considered a good result. The teams below them have got tough run ins and all play each other at some point too, leaving the Whites to be able to swan off and secure points.
A good performance mixed with a point would be a good afternoon for Leeds and one step closer to securing Premier League survival.
