Michael Owen predicts result of Leeds clash v Wolves

Leeds United will face Wolverhampton Wanderers in their Premier League clash on Saturday at Elland Road.

Ahead of the match, former England striker Michael Owen has predicted a 1-1 draw for this game.

Leeds have managed just one win this season and they are struggling to score, with the club missing the services of striker Patrick Bamford through injury.

Owen has rightly pointed out that it’s been a “quiet start” for Bielsa’s side, and that they need a big win to get their mojo back.

Wolves, on the other hand, are in good form at the moment, having picked up three wins in a row.

“I would never have believed that Leeds will be one of the league’s lowest scorers before the season but here we are,” wrote Owen for BetVictor.

“It’s been a quiet start for Bielsa’s side, and the team just needs a lift or a big win to get some spark back.

“As for Wolves, that’s now three wins in a row and they can start looking up the table. That was a thrilling win against Villa and they possess a lot of quality in forward areas.

“Interestingly, Wolves are yet to draw a game this season, but I think it will come here. I’m going for 1-1.”

Huge game

Leeds United are heading into this game on the back of a 1-0 defeat against Southampton last week.

It was a poor performance from the Whites, and Bielsa described it as one of the worst weeks of his managerial career. Leeds were completely outplayed, and they need a strong reaction here.

The Whites have failed to match the intensity of last season, with the absence of several key players hurting the club badly.

The Argentine has raised the issue of lack of squad depth during the pre-match press conference, but Leeds need to find a way to pick up all three points at home to get their season back on track.

The Whites will welcome back Raphinha into the side, but they are likely to miss the energy of Kalvin Phillips once again in midfield.

Leeds are unlikely to change their style of football, especially at Elland Road. However, the confidence in the team is very low at the moment, and a massive effort from the players is needed to turn the tide.

In other Leeds news, Phil Hay has predicted a busy transfer window for the Whites.
