Michael Owen makes strong Leeds United relegation prediction

Michael Owen says that the relegation battle is now between Leeds United and Everton after Sunday’s results.

Burnley have jumped out of the relegation zone after beating Wolves 1-0, but Everton have joined the bottom two after suffering a 2-0 defeat against Liverpool.

Leeds will face Crystal Palace on Monday at Selhurst Park, and they need to get a positive result from that game.

“Leeds are in trouble as well. I think out of all three (Everton and Burnley), I would prefer to be in Burnley’s shoes,” said Owen to Premier League TV production.

“I think it’s between Everton and Leeds who goes down.”

Strong claim

It’s a strong prediction from Owen, and let’s see how it unfolds.

At the moment, the Whites are four points ahead of Everton having played the same number of games.

They face Palace on Monday night at Selhurst Park and they have to pick up maximum points, if not a draw, from this game.

The Whites are in good form at the moment, having picked up three wins and a draw in their last four games.

However, pundits are fearing that the Whites could struggle after the game tonight.

Jesse Marsch’s side will face the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea in the next four fixtures, and it will require a massive effort to get something from those games.

City are in a league of their own while getting a point away from home against the Gunners won’t be easy at all.

If Leeds fail to get something from these three games, they could be in deep trouble provided Everton manage to get some positive results from their fixtures.
