Michael Brown shares Leeds United regret amid ‘difficult’ Elland Road situation
Michael Brown has revealed that he wishes he had joined Leeds United earlier than he did during his playing career.
Answering questions on the BBC Sport website on Thursday (28 March), the pundit said he enjoyed the challenge and the great rapport he had with the Whites fans despite it being “difficult” at times due to the managerial and ownership changes.
But he admitted that it was a “brilliant” environment to work in and that he’s pleased to see the club are doing so well in their bid to gain promotion back to the Premier League this season.
“I enjoyed the challenge and I had a great rapport with the supporters,” said Brown. “It was at times a difficult situation because of the manager change and different owners, but we had great fun.
“It was a brilliant environment to work in and I thoroughly enjoy it when I get to go back to Leeds United now. It was at the latter end of my career and I wish I could have done it a little bit earlier. As players, we steadied the ship of uncertainty and it was a good group.
“It is great to see Leeds doing well this season and, hopefully, we will see them back in the Premier League because that is where they need to be.”
Leeds United fans get behind their players
It’s no big surprise to hear Brown speak fondly about the relationship he had with the fans as they are well-known for getting behind their team in the most difficult of times.
The former midfielder clearly feels honoured to have represented the club and wants to see them do well moving forward.
Although he played for the Whites in what was a tricky spell, he was the kind of player supporters like to see playing for their club, giving his all and making tackles to help his team win games.

It’s nice to hear he keeps a close eye on their progress and is glad to see that the club are well on their way to securing promotion back to the Premier League.
There is no doubt that Daniel Farke has done a superb job this season and he will be looking for them to keep their momentum going over the next few weeks at Elland Road.
