Micah Richards stunned by ‘sensational’ Jayden Bogle after what happened at Leeds

Micah Richards has picked out Jayden Bogle for particular praise as Leeds United earned promotion from the Championship.

The Whites secured a huge 6-0 win against Stoke City on Monday (21 April), securing a place in the Premier League after Burnley beat Sheffield United on the same evening.

This sparked wild scenes at Elland Road, forgetting about the failings in the playoff of Daniel Farke’s side nearly 12 months ago.

This campaign has been much more successful, but it’s Bogle who has been singled out for his impact and performances in West Yorkshire.

Richards blown away by Bogle at Leeds United

The 24-year-old wasn’t necessarily a signing met with excitement in LS11 after a difficult spell with Sheffield United in the Premier League last year.

Although the failures of his stint at Bramall Lane were at the forefront in the summer, it is fair to say that these are long gone.

The Englishman has been a mainstay in the defensive line under Farke and has been superb in all areas of the pitch at Elland Road.

This has seen him flourish going forward while also putting in positive defensive performances throughout the campaign.

Scoring six and assisting four from right back can’t be underestimated, and that level of performance hasn’t been wasted on Leeds-born Richards.

Speaking on The Rest Is Football (23 April), the former defender said: “You know who the massive signing for them has been.

“They brought in the full-back, Bogle, and he has been sensational. Defensively, starting attacks, scoring goals, it’s been a great season.”

Bogle deserving of glowing review from Richards

There have been many standout performers for the Whites this season who have made Farke’s side succeed throughout the year.

Joel Piroe is one example, especially after his four-goal haul against Stoke City on promotion party day for Leeds in LS11.

The likes of Dan James and Manor Solomon have also caught the eye, but there is no doubt that Bogle has been one of the brightest sparks.

The defender has shown an excellent level of attacking prowess and a defensive mindset, which has made him a hugely useful asset at Leeds.

Now the former Derby County man has another season in the Premier League to look forward to, and he will hope that it is better than his last.
