Micah Richards rages at potential Leeds United disrespect from Chris Sutton live on BBC

Micah Richards has hit back at Chris Sutton for his initial doubts about Leeds United in the Premier League run-in.

Manchester City still have to come to Elland Road in the title race, and Sutton wasn’t sure if the Whites could be judged under Jesse Marsch.

Richards fumed and insisted that Elland Road has been rocking since the League One days and that Sutton shouldn’t be disrespectful of the challenge awaiting.

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live on the Monday Night Club [11 April], Sutton wasn’t 100% sure of what to expect.

“Leeds away, I mean Leeds away,” said Sutton. “Can we judge Leeds?

“No, I think it’s a tricky fixture. I really think it’s a tricky fixture.”

Richards then hit back and was not best pleased that Sutton may have had his doubts at first about the fixture.

“Elland Road when it’s rocking,” he said.

“Remember the days in League One. There were still 30 odd thousand there. Don’t disrespect Elland Road, please don’t do that.”

Rocking.

There is nothing like a packed Elland Road.

Especially when it is a Saturday evening kick-off against a huge challenge such as Manchester City, the fans will go wild for it.

Every single big challenge and shot on goal will be celebrated hugely, and Pep Guardiola will know that he can’t take this fixture for granted.

Things have changed since that 7-0 thrashing earlier in the season, with key players back from injury and a new man, Jesse Marsch, now in charge.

The American has already masterminded a win over City this season with RB Leipzig in the Champions League, that will be his motivation.

Richards getting his back up shows that those linked with City aren’t exactly looking forward to that trip to Elland Road at the end of the month.

We are, and we can’t wait to get stuck into the best – bring it on.
