Medical scheduled: Leeds United on verge of signing Marc Roca from Bayern – Di Marzio
Bayern Munich midfielder Marc Roca is set to undergo his Leeds United medical on Friday as the Spaniard edges closer to a move to Elland Road, as revealed by Sky Sports journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
It had been reported by 90min on Monday 13 June that Leeds were closing in on a £12million deal for the midfielder.
It has since been revealed by Di Marzio on his personal Twitter account on Tuesday 14 June that the 25-year-old will undergo his medical and likely sign on Friday.
The Sky Sports journalist tweeted: “Medical and [pen emoji] for Marc Roca with Leeds United.
“Deal done with Bayern Munich.”
Carrying on the good work
The signing of Roca maintains Jesse Marsch’s fast start to the transfer window with the Spaniard following Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen through the door at Elland Road.
The Whites’ early business is exactly what the Elland Road faithful needed after the dramatic end to last season.
It is clear that Marsch is being backed heavily in the transfer window and it’s crucial that the club hierarchy give him time to implement his stamp on proceedings at Elland Road.

One worry for Whites fans is that Roca potentially being a replacement for Kalvin Phillips and it wouldn’t be a surprise if this signing has been made with Phillips’ potential departure in mind.
Phillips’ departure would be hard to take for the Elland Road faithful, but ultimately the 26-year-old has earned the right to test himself at a higher level and no one can begrudge him a move to a Champions League club.
Bringing 25-year-old Roca to the club looks like an astute business by Marsch with the midfielder coming into the prime of his career and will be able to offer Leeds at least three or four years of service.
In other Leeds United news, the quest to seal another major signing takes fresh twist amid significant recent development.
