Medical on Wednesday: Leeds United agree fee for Lewis Pirie signing – Fabrizio Romano
Aberdeen youngster Lewis Pirie is set to undergo a medical on Wednesday ahead of his move to Leeds United, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Writing on Twitter on Tuesday (11 July), Romano reported that the 16-year-old striker will undergo his medical on 12 July before his move from Scottish side Aberdeen can be completed.
Romano adds that Pirie, who enjoyed a 51-goal haul for club and country last season, will secure a deal lasting until June 2026.
Fresh legs, for the future
Leeds needs goal power next season vitally. They are set to lose key scorers including Rodrigo [Aaron Domingez] and Brenden Aaronson’s move to Bundesliga side Union Berlin was confirmed on Sunday (9 July), meaning reinforcements are needed.
Pirie looks to be a hot young prospect who would certainly develop under the likes of manager Daniel Farke in the Championship, but it is unlikely he will be an immediate starter.

With 51 goals for club and country at youth level last season, his ability to score at his level is beyond question. However, playing as a teenager in the Championship is a different level to youth football, so his development and integration are key.
Leeds may need more proven Championship scorers for the immediate future if they want a successful bid at promotion back to the Premier League next season, especially with forward Willy Gnotno looking likely to move [Alessio Lento].
However, Pirie has the potential to develop into a top attacking talent while still having age on his side.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites look to secure the signing of a Coventry City attacker following Brenden Aaronson’s exit.
