Max Wober tells Leeds United he wants to quit now with exit close – Phil Hay

Max Wober has told Leeds United that he wants to quit the club now with his exit close, according to Phil Hay on Sunday 23 July.

The Whites are said to be in talks with Borussia Monchengladbach over a season-long loan, with discussions over a permanent option being included too.

Daniel Farke confirmed that Wober was left out against Monaco due to a transfer situation, with it now being shared that the Austrian has shared his wishes.

Hay shared the news on The Athletic live transfer blog on Sunday [23 July, 12:45] with another exit now on the cards after relegation at Elland Road.

Wober will become the latest in a long line to move on, with Robin Koch, Diego Llorente, Rasmus Kristensen, Marc Roca and Brenden Aaronson already leaving.

Get rid.

As soon as a player makes it clear they want to leave, it is best to get rid of them immediately.

Wober has shown that desire and there is no point in keeping a player who may have his mind elsewhere, especially when a gruelling Championship season is around the corner.

The Austrian made a good impression after joining in January, but was that because of his performances or because it was impossible to look any worse than those around him?

With Koch, Llorente and Kristensen already leaving, new defenders are needed desperately, with Charlie Cresswell also getting a big opportunity to make a name for himself.

A left-back is also needed, so with another exit being close to finalised, the attention needs to switch to incoming transfers straight away with only two weeks until the new season.

All eyes are on Elland Road, we can’t keep getting rid of players without bringing replacements in.
