Max Wober set for surgery in yet another Leeds United blow from Thorp Arch

Leeds United defender Max Wober is set for surgery on his knee injury on Tuesday 1 October, Daniel Farke has confirmed.

Joe Donnohue shared the news from Farke after his Norwich pre-match press conference via X (30 September) with Wober set to be out for six weeks.

Ethan Ampadu, Dan James, Manor Solomon and Isaac Schmidt will all also not travel to the game at Carrow Road on 1 October due to their respective injuries.

Leeds United injury update

The Whites finally seemed to be getting into a run of form but have all of a sudden managed to hit a wall in terms of injury issues.

The Whites managed to cruise past Coventry City in a 3-0 win at Elland Road over the weekend and finally looked to be hitting top speed.

Ampadu’s injury is a crushing blow to the club with the Welshman expected to be sidelined for at least 10 weeks [Yorkshire Evening Post, 30 September].

The club are now extremely light in the defensive department with just two senior centre-backs available.

Should Joe Rodon or Pascal Struijk find themselves injured before or during their game against the Canaries, the club will find themselves in a rather sticky situation.

There’s still plenty of time for things to change but despite Leeds’ priority being to keep clean sheets, they may have quite a task on their hands, especially if James Debayo is called up to Farke’s first-team.

In other Leeds United news, Ao Tanaka must step up for the Whites after an injury twist in the win v Coventry.
