Max Wober returns to Leeds United early from international duty after suffering injury, Wilfried Gnonto to return on Tuesday
Wilfried Gnonto is set to return to Leeds on Tuesday (28 March) for more tests following his injury on international duty, while Max Wober has already returned.
The Italian suffered an ankle injury after just 20 minutes of Sunday’s clash with Malta and was forced off the pitch, while Wober picked up a thigh injury with Austria (24 March).
Both have been sent home from international duty, and according to journalist Mo Ibrahim Gnonto won’t return until Tuesday to undergo more tests while Wober returned over the weekend.
“Willy Gnonto is expected to return to Leeds tomorrow to undergo more tests after a scan today on his ankle,” he wrote on his personal Twitter account (27 March).
“Max Wober has already returned.”
Fingers crossed
With a huge Premier League clash against Arsenal to come on Saturday at the Emirates Stadium, Leeds need the squad to be as strong as possible.
Javi Gracia has made the team harder to beat, and a big 4-2 win over Wolves was a great way to boost morale and build momentum before the international break.

But Gnonto has been in fantastic form so far this season while Wober has been excellent since joining the club in January, so their absences would be hugely obvious for such a big game.
The hope for Gnonto is that it was just an impact injury on his ankle and he will be able to run it off, but with Wober going off with a muscle injury it seems almost impossible that he will be available.
Gracia will need to find a new way to get the squad performing at 100% to try and desperately avoid defeat against the team flying at the top of the league, or the win over Wolves will be worth little with us likely getting dragged back into the battle at the bottom.
In other Leeds news, one youngster has shown he is already capable of stepping up should a major exit take place this summer.
