Max Wober sends rare message to Leeds United fans after Championship title success
Max Wober has not played a major role in Leeds United’s Championship title triumph, but featured in their final-day victory at Plymouth.
Wober had not featured for Leeds since a four-minute cameo in a 1-1 draw with Luton on 5 April, but helped the West Yorkshire outfit clinch the title by making a substitute appearance against Plymouth on Saturday.
The Austria international has made just two Championship starts for Daniel Farke’s men in the second tier this season.
His most valuable contribution this term came in December, when he scored in a 2-0 triumph over Derby County.

Wober celebrates Leeds’ Championship title in rare Instagram post
The 27-year-old had not mentioned the Elland Road club in an Instagram post since July 2023, when he announced he was joining Borussia Monchengladbach on loan for a season.
But on Tuesday (6 May), he posted: “Champions. This club is back where it belongs. Thanks to this amazing group, all the staff, and the unbelievable support of the fans.”
Max Wober’s Leeds future could come into question this summer
While Leeds have had a superb campaign, amassing 100 points to lift the Championship title, Wober has not been one of the protagonists.

The defender, who can operate as either a centre-half or a full-back, is clearly below the likes of Joe Rodon in Farke’s pecking order.
As the Whites prepare to survive in the Premier League next season, the West Yorkshire giants will have to strengthen their squad in the summer transfer window.
The Elland Road outfit have set their sights on the likes of Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff, but to facilitate such additions, Farke may have to let go of some of his current squad.
Wober could be a player who Leeds look to part company with, as he has not been named in their starting lineup since a 3-3 draw with Hull in January.
However, the fact that he can also play at left-back could see him stay in West Yorkshire if Junior Firpo is not handed a new contract.
