Max Wober concern shared at Leeds United after what’s happened
Graeme Bailey believes Max Wober will be “concerned” with his lack of game time at Leeds United this season.
The centre-back has spent a large chunk of time on the sidelines this season due to an injury he sustained but since his return, he hasn’t been able to shift Joe Rodon or Pascal Struijk out of the first-team.
Speaking to Leeds United News (4 December), journalist Bailey shared his thoughts on the situation the Austria international had found himself in.
“Wober is concerned about his lack of game time but Leeds generally think he has a big part to play. However, there are players at both Leipzig and Salzburg who are available and could help cover Wober, whilst also bolstering Leeds’ options.
“We are told that conversations are continuing, and even if Wober does not leave – we could very well see players arriving at Elland Road from elsewhere in the Red Bull network”.
Max Wober needs to prove his worth to Leeds United and Daniel Farke
On paper, having just three senior centre-backs within your ranks for an entire Championship season may seem rather unwise but, so far, it’s worked out for the West Yorkshire outfit.
Rodon and Struijk have more than managed to hold down the fort in the absence of players such as Wober and Ethan Ampadu this season with the centre-back duo being hailed as the best pairing in the league by some.
While many would expect Wober to be in with a shout to start the odd game here and there due to his international career, he’s been left sidelined.

His return to Elland Road in the summer received mixed reactions from fans with Borussia Monchengladbach consistently linked with making a move for the former RB Salzburg man after his successful loan spell.
Only time will tell what the future holds for the centre-back but at the moment, it looks like he’s going to be warming the bench for a little while longer.
