Max Gradel sends message as Leeds United transfer confirmed

Max Gradel has sent a message to new Leeds United signing Josuha Guilavogui after his move to Elland Road was announced.

The Frenchman posted a heartfelt message to the Whites’ fans on his personal Instagram [23 October] after he signed a deal that will keep him at the club until the end of the season.

Gradel, who spent a couple of seasons at Elland Road earlier in his career and is now with Turkish side Amedspor, was one of many notable names to respond.

He replied with the word “MOT”, along with three praying hand emojis and a heart.

Josuha Guilavogui is perfect Leeds United transfer

It’s no secret that Leeds are in a midfield injury crisis thanks to the long-term absences of Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev.

This resulted in players such as Cheikou Kouyate and Francis Coquelin being linked with a move to Elland Road but, in the end, it was Guilavogui who was chosen.

The Frenchman ticked all the boxes that the German wanted as he can play in both defensive midfield and centre-back while also being left-footed.

Upon the return of Ampadu and Gruev, it’s unlikely that the 34-year-old will have much of a run in the first team but he’s a more than solid backup option.

It’s not yet known when the midfielder will debut for Leeds but reports have suggested that it could come as early as the Whites’ next Championship game against Bristol City on 26 October.

Even if it’s just a cameo, it would be nice to see the Frenchman donning his new colours as soon as possible.
