Matthew Upson pleased with one moment in Leeds United v Southampton
Matthew Upson waxed lyrical of Leeds United in the 15th minute of their game against Southampton.
In a game that the Whites ended up losing 1-0, there were few moments where they looked comfortable.
Armando Broja’s second-half goal was well merited because the Whites did little to nothing to keep the Saints at bay.

Marcelo Bielsa asks his team to play a certain way – in tight spaces and keeping the ball on the ground.
The Whites did just that to set up a good chance to hit the Saints on the counter but unfortunately failed to show composure in the final third.
Upson, a BBC pundit, said on the world feed, “You saw how they were making runs beyond the striker. That’s what Bielsa likes. Those tight battles in midfield.”
Need to do better
The Saints started the game strongly and put Leeds on the backfoot from minute one.
They pressed the Whites high up the pitch, and apart from a few select moments, Bielsa’s side failed to navigate their way through to the final third.
It was a miracle how they didn’t find themselves down at half-time, because Southampton had plenty of chances to take the lead.

However, in the second half, Southampton deservedly took the lead via a goal from Armando Broja.
The Whites did very little to come back and ended up losing the contest.
They failed to even get a single shot on target and desperately missed the services of Patrick Bamford, Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha.
