Matt Le Tissier predicts Leeds United clash v Everton

Matt Le Tissier believes a packed Elland Road could make all the difference to Leeds United when they host Everton on Saturday afternoon.

Leeds lost their first Premier League game of the season last weekend as Manchester United put the Whites to the sword at Old Trafford in a 5-1 home win.

But Premier League legend Le Tissier is backing Leeds to respond in the right way with the backing of their supporters.

He told the Where’s Jeff? podcast [19/08/21]: “We know what happened to Leeds [last weekend] but Leeds at home, with the full crowd at Elland Road, I think they will be a very different proposition.

“You can imagine what the atmosphere will be like in that stadium. I think it will take a massive performance from Everton to nick all three points from this fixture.”

We haven’t witnessed a packed Elland Road for nearly 18 months now, so Saturday is sure to be an emotional occasion for many.

That will translate itself in many ways, but one thing that we can be sure of is that there will be a raucous atmosphere in the ground by the time 3pm comes around.

It will be needed as well – last weekend was a bitter blow as we wre, quite frankly, hammered by Manchester United.

The manner of the defeat is sure to have infuriated Marcelo Bielsa, regardless of his protestations to the media and refusal to outright condemn what he witnessed.

We’ll be up against an Everton side with a bit of confidence after registering their first win under Rafa Benitez against Southampton.

But, as alluded to by Le Tissier, the Whites may be driven on to victory by a full house at Elland Road.
