Leeds United midfielder Mateusz Klich has admitted to serious tiredness and minor injuries in the Premier League.
The Polish international has been suffering from a hip problem in the past couple of months and has admitted that is the reason behind his recent omissions.
Marcelo Bielsa has dropped the midfielder to the bench, with Stuart Dallas moving from left-back to take his spot in the heart of the side.
Speaking to Polish outlet, Sportowefakty, Klich admitted that he is starting to feel minor injuries as he struggles to get rests at Elland Road.
“I admit that yes, that’s why I’ve been resting more in the club lately,” he said.
“I started two matches on the bench. Over the last three years, I have loaded some of these meetings, and I have not had any holidays. Fortunately, I was avoiding more serious injuries, but minor ones started to happen to me.
“From overload, from the intensity. My joints don’t hurt yet, I’m only 30 years old, but somethings hurt. At the club, we also train very hard between meetings, so it’s hard to regain freshness.”
International break gone wrong.
Despite admitting to all of these troubles, Klich has still jetted off to spend the next couple of weeks with the Polish international side.
The 30-year-old hasn’t been fit for a number of months now, and that is clear to see, so he must have been close to staying in Yorkshire this month and using his time to recover.
After starting the majority of the games at the start of this season, Klich has only completed 90 minutes twice in his previous 11 outings.
This is a big problem for Leeds, who don’t have a huge number of options in midfield and only makes this decision even more baffling.
It makes no sense, Klich complains about lack of time off but will still be playing for Poland this month; fingers crossed he returns all good.
