Mateusz Klich delights Leeds United fans with foul-mouthed dismissal of criticism on Twitter

Mateusz Klich has responded to criticism of his performance from a Twitter user with a profane three-word response, to the delight of Leeds United fans.

The Pole was replaced after the hour at Elland Road yesterday (2 April) by the returning Kalvin Phillips, as the Whites were pegged back against Southampton to draw 1-1.

Referee Anthony Taylor’s decision not to award a late penalty for an apparent foul on Joe Gelhardt prevented it being a more positive result.

Another point and no new issues for either Phillips or captain Liam Cooper, who started, constituted a reasonable return, but one person was particularly aggrieved by what they saw, not that Klich was in a mood to listen.

After a message on Twitter from an account with the username “BOB” complaining about the Whites man giving away possession and free kicks, he replied directly saying: “[Expletive] off. Bob.”

Short and sweet

Judging by the fans queueing up to praise the response in the subsequent comments it has gone down pretty well with the United support.

The 31-year-old will have done plenty to endear himself to the Whites faithful in recent weeks with his social media output, as well as his commitment to the cause in the relegation battle.

He was withdrawn from the Wolves win with a suspected concussion, and showed off his battle scars on his Instagram following the game.

The golf-ball sized lump on his cheek after the match led him to post a photo with the caption: “Anyone lost a Pro V1?” (talkSPORT).

The midfielder was in the thick of the melee on the sideline late in that game as the benches clashed despite his facial injury, according to Phil Hay in The Athletic.

He was characteristically combative in the draw this weekend, and continued that online this morning.

BOB might think twice about offering the United man any unsolicited advice in future as he certainly came off worse in this encounter.

In other Leeds United news, Gary Lineker was laughed at by Alan Shearer and Micah Richards for his call on the late controversy against Southampton.
