Mateusz Bogusz shares image from hospital bed after major injury blow to Leeds United starlet
Mateusz Bogusz has shared an image of himself in a hospital bed after the Leeds United midfielder suffered a serious knee injury.
Bogusz, 21, has been on loan at Spanish second-tier side Ibiza but his impressive season has been cut short due to an unfortunate ACL injury.
He’s since undergone surgery and has shared an image of himself on Instagram in London with his left knee strapped up.
Clearly, the attacking midfielder’s surgery was a success and he’s in high spirits as he said: “All good. One day closer to comeback.”
Massive shame
We feel for Bogusz.
He was having a superb season on loan at Ibiza and it was standing him in great stead for when he was due to return to the UK later this year.
In 20 league appearances for Ibiza, the attacking midfielder, who’s played on both wings and as a No 10 in the Balaerics, has scored four goals and supplied seven assists.
Bogusz probably doesn’t have much of a future at Leeds based on comments he made earlier this season.

On 21 October, Bogusz told Super Express, as translated by HITC, that he “would like to stay in Spain” once he reaches the end of his loan spell at Ibiza.
Writing on The Athletic website on 23 October, Phil Hay suggested that this loan spell at Ibiza is means he may be at the “end of the line under” Marcelo Bielsa.
We can totally understand why he might want to leave and try to make a career for himself elsewhere but this injury setback is unlikely to help him and it’s also unlikely to help Leeds find a new club for him.
Bogusz’s contract expires in 2023 so he’ll be in the final year of his deal in the summer.
It’s the best time to sell up really and let him realise his dream of staying in Spain but we do hope that this injury doesn’t hinder the young man’s career in any way.
In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay has tweeted about Stuart Dallas’ injury.
