Mateo Joseph makes new Premier League admission at Leeds United
Mateo Joseph believes that Leeds United have a Premier League squad that is more than capable of achieving promotion this season.
The Whites sit just three points off the summit of the Championship having dropped two points in their 1-1 draw with Preston on 14 December.
There is no doubting the level of quality among the Whites ranks, and Joseph believes it is time to prove what they have at Elland Road.
As quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post (16 December), the Spanish forward told LUTV: “Obviously it’s more difficult to play away than at home. At home, we play with the fans and especially Leeds fans, they give you a lot of energy.
“But anyway we have to make it count, we have to keep adding points and keep going. Leeds’ squad, for me, is a Premier League-level squad and we have to prove it fighting our spot.”

Whether Leeds do indeed have a Premier League squad is up for debate but what isn’t is the clear level of confidence across the board and that could be crucial.
Winning football games comes hand in hand with a high level of confidence and it’s important to keep that mentality if Leeds are to get promoted this season.
Of course, there’s a fine line between confidence and arrogance and it is a line that can’t be crossed otherwise complacency starts to creep in and mistakes can happen.
That has already been the case in a limited number of fixtures in the current campaign with avoidable individual errors causing Leeds to have dropped needless points and Daniel Farke must manage that carefully for the remainder of the season.
The Whites have every chance of a Premier League return but maintaining the basics will prove crucial to how it will pan out.
