Martin O’Neill reveals hidden Leeds weapon that can ‘keep them afloat’ in Premier League
Leeds United have pulled further clear of the Premier League relegation zone and Martin O’Neill has highlighted a big advantage they have in the survival race.
On Sunday, Daniel Farke’s side increased their unbeaten run to three games after drawing 1-1 away at Brentford.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin headed home a late equaliser for Leeds after Jordan Henderson opened the scoring for the hosts with just 20 minutes left to play.
The Elland Road outfit are now three points clear of West Ham United in 18th, with their chances of Premier League survival growing by the week.
Leeds have a big Elland Road advantage
At the end of November, Farke looked destined for the sack at Leeds, but the German manager has pioneered a remarkable turnaround in fortunes.
The Whites have switched to a 5-3-2, allowing Calvert-Lewin to thrive up front with a striker partner, while maintaining stability at the back.
Speaking on talkSPORT, former Celtic manager O’Neill highlighted how the Leeds fans can have a huge impact on their side’s season.
When asked about Leeds’ chances of staying in the Premier League, O’Neill said: “That’s a really great equaliser down there against Brentford.
“You feel as if the Leeds crowd can almost keep you afloat as much as anything.”

Leeds must make their home form count
So far this season, Leeds have picked up 12 points from eight games at Elland Road, with three of their four wins coming at home.
On their travels, though, Farke’s side have only come away with the victory once, a 3-1 triumph over rock bottom Wolves back in September.
The Whites are clearly a completely different proposition at home, and a lot of that is undoubtedly down to the support of the Elland Road faithful.
In the recent win over Chelsea and their draw with Liverpool, the Leeds supporters were at their brilliant best, pushing their team on and intimidating the opposition.
Elland Road must be a horrible place to go for any side in the Premier League, whether they are at the top or bottom of the table, and the West Yorkshire outfit must take full advantage of that.

If Leeds are going to avoid an immediate return to the Championship, their home form is absolutely crucial, with some winnable games approaching in LS11.
