Leeds United have never failed to win any of their opening seven games in a league season, but that is the reality they are facing.

The Whites welcome Watford to Elland Road on Saturday afternoon, with three points desperately needed in the context of this season.

Questions have started to be raised regarding our business in the summer, with another injury crisis striking the squad.

This has seen eyes lean towards January already, and George Booth has asked if there will be any business coming our way.

This will be the big question over the next couple of months.

Marcelo Bielsa has clear areas that are screaming for reinforcements in his squad, in each third of the pitch.

Our defence is covered in injuries and can’t appear to stay fit for a prolonged period of time, with Diego Llorente and Robin Koch still out.

Midfield is also an area of concern, with Adam Forshaw injured and Kalvin Phillips, Mateusz Klich and Stuart Dallas our only options – no matter how tired they look.

Patrick Bamford is also alone in the final third, with Rodrigo forced into the number 10 role by Bielsa when our main striker is fit.

Despite that, it looks as though there will be little business done.

Leeds rarely enter the market in January and when they have in recent years, it certainly hasn’t worked with Kiko Casilla and Jean Kevin-Augustin two of the worst examples.

One shining light that leaves the door open is that Angus Kinnear has always admitted that money is there to be spent if a deal arrives.

It happened with Dan James on deadline day, with the Welshman arriving for big money despite our business looking as though it had been concluded.

Lewis O’Brien is one name to look out for, with a release clause being placed in his new contract at our near rivals – could Leeds take advantage of that?

Leeds need reinforcements, everyone knows that but whether they will look to do something in January remains unknown – the question will surely continue to be asked if this run continues.
