Mark Lawrenson predicts winner in Leeds clash v Fulham
Mark Lawrenson has backed Leeds United to return to winning ways against Fulham in their Premier League clash on Friday evening.
The BBC pundit has predicted that the Whites will leave Craven Cottage with a 2-0 victory before the upcoming international break.
Marcelo Bielsa is yet to win a single game in London since taking charge of Leeds, who have already conceded 16 goals in the capital this season.
Writing in his BBC predictions column, Lawrenson believes that this could be the one game that gets the Whites back on their way in the Premier League.
“Leeds haven’t won – or scored – for a little while now, three games to be exact, which is very unlike them,” he said.
“That’s why I worry for Fulham a bit here, despite Scott Parker’s side being in much better form.
“Fulham were like a different side then and leaked a lot of goals. They have tightened up a lot since then, but I am expecting Leeds to start firing again here.”
Leeds will see this as a must-win game, and they definitely haven’t had a better chance to put this horrid run in London to an end.
Fulham have improved in the past month or so, winning against the likes of Liverpool, but they have also been destroyed by Manchester City.
We can’t read too much into the reverse fixture in the second clash of the season, with the Whites now having the likes of Diego Llorente and Raphinha to unleash.
Lawrenson may point out the fact that goals haven’t been flowing recently, but Patrick Bamford should be fit to keep his spot.
After missing out on an England spot yesterday, the Whites striker will be raring to go and ready to prove a point to Gareth Southgate; watch out Fulham.
