Mark Lawrenson predicts scoreline of Leeds United clash v Arsenal

Leeds United will look to bounce back to winning ways when they face Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday (15 October) at Elland Road.

The Whites are winless in their last five games, and Mark Lawrenson doesn’t think they’ll pick up anything against the Gunners who are riding high on momentum.

While speaking to Paddy Power, Lawrenson said that Leeds “got what they deserved” against Crystal Palace, and predicts Jesse Marsch’s side to lose 2-1 against the Gunners.

“I was very impressed with Arsenal against Liverpool last week. They conceded twice but still managed to get the win,” said Lawrenson to Paddy Power.

“I think Leeds got what they deserved against Crystal Palace which was nothing. The thing with Arsenal is that they’re expected to win and the pressure starts now with them but I think they’ll win this. Leeds 1-2 Arsenal.”

Need three points

The Whites need to pick all three points from this game. They need to get points at home, otherwise, they will be in the same doldrum as they were in last season.

After making a bright start to the season, they seem to have dropped off their pace. They have failed to win a game since August, and the pressure is gradually mounting.

In terms of performance, the team need to raise their levels, individually and collectively.

Leeds United

The Gunners are emerging as one of the contenders for the Premier League title this season. They defeated Liverpool in their previous game, and it will require a strong performance to beat them.

Against Crystal Palace, despite taking an early lead, the Whites still lost the game. Once again they failed to deal with set pieces, and this is something Marsch needs to address immediately.

Arsenal have got a wealth of attacking talents, and the Whites need to do better defensively.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites could place financial sanctions on a London club due to an expected twist in the last couple of weeks.
