Mark Lawrenson predicts Leeds United v West Brom clash

Leeds United are set to welcome supporters back to Elland Road for the first time this season when they face West Brom in their final game of the season.

And BBC pundit Mark Lawrenson believes they will take all three points in a 2-0 win.

The Whites are coming off the back of a three-game winning streak in the Premier League, having claimed victory over Southampton earlier this week.

Relegated West Brom meanwhile are winless in the league in six games, last claiming three points against Southampton in mid-April.

In his weekly Premier League predictions for BBC Sport, Mark Lawrenson was full of praise for the way Leeds have played this season, crediting the work that Marcelo Bielsa has done in West Yorkshire.

Lawrenson said: “Leeds have not won any trophies this season but they deserve more than an honourable mention for what they have done, and the way they have done it.

“Some people are already saying they will find it harder next season because the opposition will know how they play under Marcelo Bielsa, but they already do – it’s just that not many teams can deal with it.”

The BBC pundit has backed a comfortable 2-0 win for Leeds over the the Baggies.

Welcome return to Elland Road

Having fans back at Elland Road for the game this weekend will be massive as we look to close out a thoroughly successful first season back in the Premier League.

Bielsa has done an incredible job this season and the players each deserve credit for comfortably securing the club’s Premier League status, all the while playing football that has been exciting and enjoyable to watch.

We know that we can’t drop into the bottom half of the table this weekend so the hope now is that we can place as high as we can in the table, with the Whites able to go as high as eighth, other results pending.

Either way we’re delighted to see just how much progression has been made this season and it makes us ever more excited to see how high the club can reach under Bielsa’s tenure, with positive recruitment this summer sure to keep us on the up.
