Marcelo Gallardo would be ‘amazing’ ideal coach for Leeds United – Juan Arango
Marcelo Gallardo would be an “amazing” manager for Leeds United, according to Guardian journalist Juan Arango.
TYC Sports reported on 9 February that Andrea Radrizzani made the formal offer to Gallardo, and Arango says that he can see the Argentine coach joining the Whites.
Given his reputation for working with young talents, Arango notes on Twitter (9 February) that the 47-year-old could be a “dream coach” for the Whites, and the likes of Tyler Adams and Willy Gnonto could flourish under him.
“Marcelo Gallardo at Leeds?” wrote Arango on Twitter.
“I could see that. If it is to happen, Leeds get an amazing ideal coach that will offer a great launching pad for youngsters and will maximize others.
“He could be a dream coach for guys like (Brenden) Aaronson as well as Tyler Adams, (Luis) Sinisterra, and (Willy) Gnonto.”
Let’s see
Gallardo would be a fantastic appointment for the club. The Whites are in the process of appointing their next manager, but the club is taking time.
They have failed in their approach to lure Carlos Corberan and Andoni Iraola, and Gallardo is one of the options for them.
Victor Orta and Andrea Radrizzani are both admirers of the South American coach, but he has reservations about moving to the Premier League.
The language barrier is thought to be the main reason behind it. He doesn’t speak English, and although he can work with a translator, he feels the need to learn the language first, so that he can communicate with the players easily.

This should not be a big problem, though. With good translators around, he can get across his message clearly, while he can take time to learn English gradually. It is not a huge issue, but whether Leeds can persuade him to move to Elland Road is a big question.
Feyenoord manager Arne Slot is another option for the Whites, but doubts remain whether he would be willing to leave the Dutch giants during the middle of the season.
