Marcelo Bielsa will leave Leeds United in summer, he may even retire
Marcelo Bielsa will leave Leeds United at the end of the season and may even decide to retire, according to Times journalist Rick Broadbent.
Writing on The Times’ website on Thursday [24 February], Broadbent reported that once Bielsa leaves, Leeds could “get a more pragmatic manager and may even have better league finishes”.
However, he feels as though the Whites will not be as exciting to watch without Bielsa at the helm with the Argentine’s contract set to expire in the summer.

Historic change
We’ve seen in the last decade or so that it’s not easy for clubs to replace managers who’ve done so well there.
While Bielsa has only been at Leeds for less than four seasons, we look at clubs like Manchester United and Arsenal and how they struggled to replace Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger respectively.
Bielsa will be one tough act to follow and whoever comes in to replace him – whether it be this summer, next summer or in five years’ time – is going to have to hit the ground running.

Bielsa’s built some very solid foundations at Elland Road and they can definitely be built upon by a manager who’s great in the transfer market.
Our squad needs to be refreshed and added to, there are players who are ageing that are being asked too much of and there are players who you’d count as deadwood and no longer good enough for Leeds.
It’ll be a massive summer if Bielsa goes, easily the biggest since Victor Orta first arrived as director of football when he signed every man and his dog.
But with Bielsa, regardless of whether we stay up or not, it’ll be a sad day when he goes.
In other Leeds United news, a new name has emerged as a potential replacement for Bielsa at the end of the season.
