Marcelo Bielsa was unwilling to change methods after meeting senior Leeds United players

Marcelo Bielsa was unwilling to change his methods at Leeds United despite meeting with the senior players, according to 90Min.

Due to their lack of form, a number of players approached the Argentine and asked him to change.

However, he told them that he was keen on sticking to his philosophy as it had brought him success in his first three years in charge at Elland Road.

Right move?

Bielsa is a dogmatic character and there was little he could do to change his methods.

Along with a majority of the Leeds fans, he genuinely believed that his philosophy would get the club over the line in their relegation battle.

However, it’s clear that the dressing room had little hope that he was the man to turn things around.

They probably would’ve asked him to play a more pragmatic style of football – something that he would never consider.

It remains to be seen how Jesse Marsch handles this group of disgruntled players at Leeds.

He’s got a playing style similar to Bielsa’s and may be just as demanding with them on the training ground.

Maybe his sessions will not be as strenuous as Murderball but they’re certainly not going to be with their own courses of difficulties.

Fans would’ve liked to see a few more months of Bielsa but unfortunately, that wasn’t to be and they now have to get used to the American at the helm.
