Marcelo Bielsa has suggested that the injury picked up by Leeds United winger Raphinha doesn’t feel serious.
The Whites pulled off a miraculous 2-1 victory despite having 10-men against Manchester City, and the South American had a huge effect on the counter-attack.
The Brazilian limped off towards the end of the clash after a crunching tackle by Fernandinho, although it looked precautionary.
Speaking to the media after the brilliant victory, via Leeds Live, Bielsa shared his gut feeling on the South American after he limped off.
“Haven’t asked, but don’t have the feeling it is serious,” he said.
Don’t worry, this is usually a positive response.
Bielsa isn’t one to sugarcoat things, and if it was a serious blow, he will have been told by his medical staff as they left the field with Raphinha.
There have been plenty of opportunities where Raphinha has given us a scare this season by going off injured, but he has always recovered quickly.
Given his clear star status at Elland Road, the fact he was dragged off will likely be precautionary to make sure that he is fine to feature against Liverpool.
Thankfully, for the Whites, that game at Elland Road is being broadcasted on Monday Night Football next week.
That gives Raphinha an extra two days to recover ahead of the huge clash where Leeds will look to make it four consecutive wins and two big scalps on the bounce.
Watch out Jurgen Klopp, the Whites are coming for Liverpool next.
