Marcelo Bielsa has dropped a big claim on a new contract and his future at Leeds United on Monday afternoon, with three months of the season remaining.
El Loco has admitted he would respond to Andrea Radrizzani immediately if that’s what he wanted, rather than waiting to renew his rolling contact at Elland Road over the summer.
This will come as a huge boost for the Whites, but Bielsa did admit that he should still be judged on what happens between now and the end of the season.
Speaking in his press conference on Monday, as relayed by Phil Hay on his personal Twitter account, Bielsa claimed that he doesn’t look past the present.
“I don’t imagine my professional future,” he said. “Nothing is better than what Leeds represents as a job.
“If they want an answer before the end of the season I will respond. But I will tell them they should consider what happens in this period.”
Bielsa thinks a decision should wait until the season ends – in case Leeds conclude in that period that he's not right for next season.

Any Leeds fan would want to reload any news site right this moment and read that Bielsa has extended his contract to remain at Elland Road.
Hay did report this week that Bielsa has been involved in plotting future transfer target past this season and that he is invested in the “long game” in West Yorkshire.
Bielsa has been nothing short of incredible during his three years at Elland Road, and should he remain in charge, we could once again attract some huge names to the club.
Leeds are currently comfortable in mid-table with the majority of their squad from the Championship days, imagine where we could be with three or four more signings.
