Marcelo Bielsa responds to major report on Leeds future with 2-year deal mooted
Marcelo Bielsa has responded to reports claiming that he is closing in on a new two-year deal with Leeds United past this season.
South American outlet La Nacion have shared this week that the manager is set to extend his stay after his success in the Premier League.
Andrea Radrizzani has only worked with one-year deals since El Loco moved to Elland Road, but suggestions have made more long-term suggestions.
Bielsa was questioned about the report on Thursday afternoon, and BBC journalist Adam Pope shared his responses on his personal Twitter account.
“This information is not real,” he said.
“I ignore the origin. These things only either the club or I can say as we possess the information. If any information is to give I will give it.”
Nothing to see here.
This may appear as a major blow when looking at this initially, but we all know that Bielsa doesn’t like to discuss his own future when the season is still going on.
We haven’t seen El Loco as happy as he is with the surroundings at Elland Road, and he has well and truly settled in West Yorkshire over this past year.
This is Bielsa’s team, and he has transformed everyone and everything.
There is no one else that we would rather have in charge of this squad, and we fully expect him to put pen to paper on a new contract, but not until this marvellous season has come to an end next month.
