Marcelo Bielsa raves about Leeds winger Raphinha

Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has showered heaps of praise on Raphinja ahead of their Premier League clash against Leicester City.

The Whites will take on the Foxes on Sunday, where they will be aiming to win back to back Premier League games for the first time this season.

The Foxes are winless in their last two games, including a 2-0 defeat against Arsenal. Leeds will be fancying their chances, and once again the Whites will be pinning their hopes on Raphinha to deliver.

The Brazilian enjoyed a spectacular campaign last season, but it seems he has taken his game to a whole new level this term.

Ahead of the match, Bielsa was asked if Raphinha is one of the best in the Premier League at unbalancing opponents. The Argentine said “clearly” before adding the 24-year-old has the individual ability to accomplish that role in a positive way.

“Clearly, he has the individual capacity to unbalance. For us, he accomplishes that role in a very positive way,” said Bielsa, as quoted by Leeds Live.

Massive impact

Raphinha is gradually becoming a very important player for the Whites, and there have been times this season when he has single-handedly dragged the team out of the mire.

The Brazilian has scored four goals this season for the Whites, but his importance to the sides goes beyond that.

Against Norwich, when Leeds were desperately searching for inspiration, Raphinha stepped up and provided a moment of sublime quality to unlock the Canaries defence.

Bielsa has praised him heavily in the past for his terrific work rate. Jamie Shackleton has also suggested that he is a defender’s dream as he puts in a lot of defensive shifts.

However, it is his dazzling feet on the ball, ability to pick passes and work ethics that have made him a popular figure at the club.

With Patrick Bamford still missing, Leeds will be hoping for another top performance from him on Sunday.

In other Leeds United news, this teenager is destined for a first-team call-up after what Andrea Radrizzani tweeted.
