Marcelo Bielsa is worried for Leeds United amid Luke Ayling’s latest injury
Leeds United have been decimated by injury at the back with Diego Llorente, and Robin Koch injured, while Pascal Struijk is banned.
Therefore, the last thing that Marcelo Bielsa needed was another injury to a defender; however, Luke Ayling limped off near the end of the 1-1 draw with Newcastle United, and the Argentine is now a bit worried [Phil Hay].
He refused to reveal if the 30-year-old had suffered an injury, but he did seem to suggest that Leeds would struggle to find a solution if the former Bristol City man is injured [Leeds Live].

He said: “We have four centre-backs, and the option of Ayling is No. 5. If we have to resolve the absence of four of them, it’s going to be complicated.”
Worrying times for the Whites.
Leeds are still without a win in the league but created more than enough chances to snatch three points from St James’ Park.
However, defensively they were all over the place and allowed the Toon to fire in seven shots on target, and they have their goalkeeper to thank for pulling off several excellent saves.
Ayling struggled on Tyneside, but they would still rather have him than not, and they just have to hope that the injury isn’t too bad.

Remember, this is a player who has been described as “fantastic” by Jamie Carragher in the past, and he is a key player for Bielsa’s side [Sky Sports 25/04/2021].
He is more than happy to fill in at centre-back, but if he is unavailable for the game against West Ham then what can Bielsa do?
Leeds have struggled enough defensively this season without having to play with just one centre-back, so let’s hope that doesn’t happen.
