Marcelo Bielsa attends new Leeds fan event, ex-star in ‘class’ fan footage – Things you may have missed last week
Leeds have had an extremely busy week as they prepare for a return to Premier League action after the international break.
Nine Leeds stars are on international duty, with some players excelling and others performing poorly for their country.
Ao Tanaka struggled with Japan, whilst Leeds goalkeeper Karl Darlow was praised despite Wales’ heavy 3-0 defeat to England.
However, MOT Leeds News gives you a rundown on some of the news stories you may have missed from the last week, including an update regarding Marcelo Bielsa.

Marcelo Bielsa attends Leeds fan event in Malaysia
Bielsa is a cult-hero at Leeds, guiding the Peacocks to Premier League football in 2019-2020.
In his first season managing in the Premier League, Bielsa led Leeds to an incredible ninth-placed finish in their first top-flight season since 2003-2004.
Unfortunately, his time at Elland Road came to an end as his man-to-man pressing system was quickly found out the following season.
Games managed | Wins | Draws | Losses | Win percentage |

Bielsa is currently the manager of the Uruguay national team and led his side to a 1-0 friendly win over the Dominican Republic in Malaysia.
After the match, Bielsa attended a Leeds fan event in Kuala Lumpur to speak to the Supporters Club Malaysia.
Having also spoken to travelling fans from Singapore and Brunei, it’s refreshing to see that Bielsa’s connection with the Peacocks remains stronger than ever.
Bielsa wasn’t the only person to greet Leeds fans in Malaysia, with former star Junior Firpo also doing the same.
Junior Firpo signs autographs after Dominican Republic defeat
Firpo spent four successful seasons in Yorkshire before eventually moving to Real Betis this summer on a free transfer.
The Dominican Republic captain played the full match against Uruguay, winning 64 per cent of his duels.
After the match, he went back out to the stands to sign autographs for Leeds supporters who were at the game in Malaysia.
Described as “class” on and off the pitch, the left-back will never forget the love that Leeds fans gave him across his 119 appearances for the Peacocks.
As for Leeds’ future plans this season, an idea has been proposed for December, which could cause some issues.
Leeds set to play Kaizer Chiefs in December
According to the Cape Argus’ print edition on 9 October, Leeds will play Kaizer Chiefs on 2 December, marking the first time they will face South African opposition.
The Diski Challenge Champions are embarking on an 11-day tour of the UK, where they’ll also face Man United, Chelsea, and QPR’s U21 side.
This could cause some issues as Leeds are scheduled to play Chelsea in the Premier League the next day.
Whilst it’ll clearly be a match that doesn’t include serious first-team players, it could still be significant ahead of the busiest part of the season.
