Marcelo Bielsa admits mistakes made during Leeds United loss v Everton
Leeds United suffered a humiliating 3-0 defeat against Everton in the Premier League on Saturday (12 February) at Goodison Park.
Marcelo Bielsa has admitted that he has made a mistake during the game with Leeds failing to create enough clear-cut chances, which is uncharacteristic of them.
Both Raphinha and Mateusz Klich were substituted at the break, with the Leeds boss admitting that he made a wrong decision in using the Polish midfielder ahead of the defence.

Bielsa said after the game, as quoted by Leeds Live: “The position of Klich was an error on my part. The midfielder that was positioned in front of our three centre backs had to defend too much, he couldn’t do what he does best which is to make runs in attack.
“Sincerely I assigned a task to him that didn’t fit his characteristics. It was difficult for us to maintain and for us to recover the ball. If you recover the ball well it’s easier to retain.”
Gutless performance
It’s hard to remember a game where Bielsa’s side were outplayed so easily by a mid-table team.
Obviously, they have suffered heavy defeats against Manchester clubs this season, but this was a shocking performance, and they don’t deserve anything from this game.
With Kalvin Phillips and Adam Forshaw, it’s dangerous to play in a three-man system, and it leaves both the midfield and the defence exposed.
On top of that, Bielsa used Klich, a naturally attacking midfielder just ahead of defence, and he failed to do that task the Argentine wanted.

Losing against Frank Lampard’s side always leaves a bad feeling but Leeds fans can hardly complain here.
The defensive performance did improve after the break, but overall, there were very few positives.
Jack Harrison gave his best during the game while Rodrigo came close to scoring on two occasions.
