Marc Roca to make decision on offers to quit Leeds United as update emerges from Europe

Leeds United ace Marc Roca has “received offers” from the Bundesliga but prefers to return to Spanish football, according to Diario Sport.

The 26-year-old previously spent two years in the German top flight with Bayern Munich before his move to England.

And before his time in Germany, the midfielder spent a handful of seasons in La Liga with Espanyol, having also represented the Spanish club at youth level.

“The relegation to the Championship of Leeds has left its players in the great showcase of the market, among them, the Catalan Marc Roca,” according to Sport.

“The midfielder, despite having received offers to return to the Bundesliga, prefers to return to Spanish football and several options have opened up for him there.”

Wanted man

Like several senior Leeds players, midfielder Roca is seemingly a wanted man in this summer’s transfer window.

There will have been many European clubs watching the club’s matches this season, with those clubs getting excited in the knowledge that the West Yorkshire outfit would be losing most of their star men should they fail to secure their Premier League safety.

Despite being used sparingly throughout his two seasons at Bayern Munich, the midfielder has two Bundesliga titles to his name, and that won’t have gone unnoticed.

The same can be said of his displays in the Premier League last season, even as the Whites were relegated to the Championship.

The German league is one that is familiar to Roca, but so is La Liga, and his preference for the latter is certainly understandable given the potential to play in his home country once again.

Moreover, with the likes of Euro 2024 and the 2026 World Cup just around the corner, the Spaniard may just have one eye on an international call-up, and that would definitely be more likely to arrive if he is regularly playing in his homeland.

In other Leeds United news, an exit for Georginio Rutter is now on the cards as a development regarding the striker emerges.
