Marc Roca tells friends he’s excited to leave Leeds United for Real Betis as loan-to-buy news emerges

Leeds United ace Marc Roca has told his closest circle that he “really likes” the idea of playing for Real Betis next season, according to Diario de Sevilla.

The publication noted that the Spanish side have wanted the player for several seasons now, and that they can sign him on loan this summer following his club’s relegation to the Championship.

Diario de Sevilla added that the La Liga outfit would like to then have the option of making the move permanent next summer.

“Marc Roca has already conveyed to his closest circle that he really likes the option of wearing verdiblanco next season,” according to Diario de Sevilla.

The publication added that the midfielder will head to Betis on loan next season, with the club wanting to “save the possibility of staying as a player at the end of the season.”

Exit close

Roca is one of several Leeds players to have been linked with an exit from Elland Road following the club’s relegation from the Premier League in May.

The Whites had been destined to drop out of the top flight for some time, but even with their relegation, some hope remained of key players staying and fighting to get the club back into the Premier League at the first time of asking.

Roca, however, will be one of many not to take up that option it seems, with the midfielder very close to returning to Spain on a temporary deal to Betis. It is a blow for Whites fans, but one that they will have seen coming.

The 26-year-old previously played in La Liga for Espanyol, and now looks set to be playing in the Spanish top flight once again next season.

Having previously played for the likes of Bayern Munich, Roca is expected to push for an exit from Elland Road in the coming weeks in order to avoid playing in the English second division.

In other Leeds United news, one manager is now ready to exchange documents to sign one Whites player.
