Marc Roca shares incredible behind scenes insight that aided Leeds United move

Marc Roca has shared an “incredible” behind-the-scenes Leeds United insight ahead of his move to Elland Road.

The Spanish midfielder joined the Whites from Bayern Munich on a four-year deal for an initial fee of £10million.

It wasn’t just Victor Orta’s project that lured him to the Premier League as the 25-year-old reveals a private conversation with former Spain under-21 teammate Junior Firpo.

He told Leeds Live: “For me, it was incredible how Victor [Orta] comes to Barcelona because we had a meeting and he explained to me why they want me, what I can do, where I can improve.

“Everything they presented to me I was very impressed and I loved it from the first moment.”

He added: “I will do every day my best, my mentality is to improve every day, to give my best, to help my teammates, to be part of an incredible team and I talked with Junior. He told me the teammates are incredible here, a good atmosphere in the locker room.

“I will help everybody, I want everybody to help me and I am sure we will do a good season.”

Promising.

So far this has been an excellent window for Leeds United in their bid to bounce back from the 2021/22 relegation disaster.

Yes, the Whites didn’t drop back down to the Championship but it was an awful season by all accounts.

In a bizarre way, it seems to have actually helped the Whites with the Orta and co acting quickly and rather effectively in the summer transfer window.

Last summer, they only made two signings in Firpo and Dan James – on the last day of the season – but they really needed more.

The fans were left furious in January as the chiefs yet again failed to act with zero additions.

Now though, Jesse Marsch’s side has been the busiest out of all the Premier League teams it seems as they look to plug the gaps in their squad.

With more signings still on the cards, 2022/23 is set to be a very exciting season.
