Many Leeds fans hit out over EFL statement on Twitter: ‘Completely pointless’
Leeds United fans have blasted the EFL for their latest statement on the coronavirus situation that has brought football in England to a screeching halt.
On Friday, it was announced that the Premier League and EFL would be suspended until at least April 3 due to the COVID-19 pandemic that is sweeping across the world.
No one really knows what is going to happen in the coming days and weeks and whether or not football will be able to resume at the start of next month.
And that is generally what the EFL have said in their latest statement after a meeting on Monday.
On their official website, the EFL have acknowledged the speculation about what will happen with the current season if it is not able to resume but refuse to comment on any of the hypothetical situations at this stage.
Basically, no decisions have been made and there is nothing new to add since it was announced last week that the leagues have been put on hold.
Some Leeds fans aren’t happy with the statement though and have hit out on Twitter, with a couple bringing up the same old conspiracy theory about the EFL trying to stop the Whites from winning promotion to the Premier League.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are hot on the heels of this English defender who’s out of contract next year.
